Equipment Needed
For tackle football, the following equipment is required and the responsibility of the player as they are not included in the registration fee:
- Helmet – White helmet for 6U & 8U. White helmet preferred for 10U if buying new, but matte black ok if using existing helmet. Matte Black with a Black facemask 12U (some exceptions may be made with board approval) *2022 or 2023 certification sticker. Note: all teams expected to transition to a white helmet in the 2024 season.
- Shoulder Pads
- Cleats
- Mouth guard with strap
- White practice jerseys
- Practice football pants (typically white, black or gray in color)
- Knee pads and 5-pad girdle if practice pants do not have integrated pads
- Large water bottle or container
- Any other practice gear wanted (such as performance under shirt and shorts)
Purchasing Equipment
Supply chain issues continue to hamper delivery of certain sporting goods, including football helmets and shoulder pads. Purchases can be made via our Riddell sales rep, but Riddell is expected to stop accepting orders by the middle of May. To ensure you receive your equipment in time for the start of fall practice (August 1), families are strongly encouraged to order by early May.
Equipment Fitting Dates and Riddell Direct Orders
If you're new to tackle football or need help finding the right size / fit for replacement equipment, we recommend that you attend one of our equipment fitting sessions on
April 27th or May 8th, 6:00-8:00 PM at the Sawyer Ranch Pool Pavilion. A Riddell sales rep will be in attendance to take orders from any families wishing to purchase equipment directly.
